A day of fun and preparation yesterday before the start of today’s Baja 1000.

Greenwood, IN, November 18, 2022 – The Canguro team is fielding the capable Team JAOS Lexus RX600 along with their trusty old Toyota Land Cruiser, a 2010 200 series they’ve named, “Monica.” The vehicles have very different goals in this year’s race. The KYB JAOS team’s vehicle is using this year as a study session to learn what they can about their vehicle and the event. “Monica” is going for the win! Both vehicles are entered in the full size stock class. But to finish 1st, first, you must finish. With an incredibly high attrition rate, the Baja is an endurance sprint and punishes mistakes.

The course spans 828.25 miles with 3 physical full-stop checkpoints and 285 virtual checkpoints. There is a 36 hour time limit in which to finish the race.

The SCORE Baja 1000 will be an elapsed-time race with staggered starts as the green flag on Friday, Nov. 18 will drop first for the motorcycles and quads at 2:30 a.m. (PT) and 9:15 a.m. (PT) for the cars, trucks and UTVs. The fastest vehicles are expected to finish in around 17 hours. #baja1000 #lexus #kyb #JAOS
