Larger aftermarket wheels can add up to 25 pounds of additional weight to each corner. Original Equipment shocks and struts are intended for original tires and wheels, not larger, heavier ones. Truck-Plus assemblies include additional damping over OE design and work well with larger, heavier tires and wheels.
Increases Steering Response
Steering response is a critical part of vehicle safety. Worn and economy shocks can allow fluid to travel through the shock valves too quickly, this reduces overall steering response. KYB’s shock valves are designed to help restore steering response to what the vehicle manufacturer intended.

The KYB Truck-Plus Performance Assembly

Additional control and easy to install, the KYB Truck-Plus is an ideal solution for owners of modern ½ ton trucks who are looking to increase their truck’s handling and control capabilities. The Truck-Plus has all of the same research and testing as our Strut-Plus but includes a strut with additional damping, and on many applications a monotube design. Monotube designs have two separate working chambers; an air-free hydraulic area for complete fluid control and a second high-pressure nitrogen gas area with a floating piston that automatically adjusts to add instant performance on demand.

The KYB Truck-Plus is built specifically for trucks that work, go off-road, have larger tires and wheels, or haul heavy loads. 

The best truck shocks won’t work well in a complete assembly without great springs. KYB uses high carbon steel coil springs that are heat treated, stress relieved, cycle tested, and salt spray tested.
