Purpose of Position/Summary:
The Order Picker Team Associate responsibilities are to safely, efficiently, and accurately pick outgoing customer orders.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Consistent order picking accuracy, while maintaining acceptable productivity scores;
- Secure product for shipment through proper stacking and stretch wrapping;
- Bring all errors to the attention of management;
- Accurately process all data into the AS400 system (RF Scanners);
- Inform Overstock of all empty Pick Bins and ensure these units are picked for their assigned order;
- Use fork lift and reach truck cautiously and safely at all times. Fork lift seat belts must be worn at all times;
- Follow detailed customer work instructions for specified orders;
- Maintain proper housekeeping throughout the DC. Keep aisles clear;
- Safe use and care of assigned RF scanner gun;
- Ensure that all UPC labels are functional and are scanned properly;
- Properly maintain material handling equipment and other assigned equipment;
- Ensure all picked units are scanned and that Pallet Reference Numbers are used correctly;
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager on an as needed basis.
Job Requirements:
This position requires a high school diploma or GED from an accredited organization. This position requires the ability to work with urgency, manage pressure and work well with other associates. This position requires excellent communication skills. One year of relevant Distribution Center or warehouse experience is preferred. One year of forklift and/or reach truck experience required. This position requires the ability to take, pass a written Forklift exam and Forklift Driving test, and pass an annual recertification test. This position requires some experience with RF scanning. This position requires the ability to work safely in a fast paced environment. This position is required to work overtime when needed.
